Turn Pain Into Bliss with 3 Simple Steps
Oct 23, 2024I had absolutely no idea that three simple steps could make such a huge difference in easing my body's pains.
For the last few months, I've been feeling so many aches in my body. My legs cramped at night, and various muscles suddenly hurt and left me immobile. At times, I was unable to get up or even move in the slightest because the pain would be so intense. It became so bad that I was scared to go outside without my phone and someone ready to pick it up if I got stuck.
A few days ago, everything changed. The final chapter of a book I was reading contained information on turning pain into bliss. I haven't even implemented half of it, and the pain in my body has evaporated. Not only that, but at night, I have stopped getting cramps in my legs. Before, I was taking double the daily dose of magnesium supplements and massaging magnesium oil onto my calves before going to sleep and I would still wake up from the onset of a cramp.
I am also walking around a lot on my own, and when the inkling of pain comes on, I implement what I read and watch the pain dissipate before it even begins.
Below are the three main keys I like to combine that have been highly effective for me:
1. Gratitude: The pain is not there to cause me discomfort; it is a messenger and evidence that I am alive. Often, I will whisper, sometimes speak, and always repeat in my mind, "Thank you for this message that I am alive."
2. Refocus breath: I used to hold my breath and resist the pain. I realized it was a futile attempt that only made it worse. Instead, I now turn my attention towards the pain, feel it for what it is, and breathe into it.
3. Movement: Instead of tensing up and freezing, I try to find movement, however small. I wiggle and stretch, sway and dance.
Doing all three at the same time has been key. It's incredible how something so simple can work magic in completely changing the body's feelings. Since doing this, I have felt blissful in my body, and all the physical pain has disappeared. It's been absolutely amazing.
