Chat GPT and the other new AI tools that have been popping up are all the rage these days. I’m probably already late to the game. This is because I believe in a slower life pace. I think it helps with overall health. Nonetheless, this new tech is not going to be stopped and it’s probably not a bad idea to check it out and learn a little more about it. Read on if you want to be part of my very first Chat GPT experience.

I thought I could use this opportunity to share a little bit more about myself and to also bring up a topic that I like to have fun with every once in a while, which is: horoscopes. In my last corporate job we would sometimes read aloud three to four sentence horoscopes for those who were around, which mostly was a lot of fun. After a while we realized, that the sentences were repeated and pieced together differently for different months, but it was still very entertaining. So let’s see what Chat GPT has to say about this.

I am Serafina Weinhold Andersen. I was born in New York City on October 10, in 1990 to a Danish mother and a German father. I have a sister who is two and a half years older than I am, called Pipaluk. When I was 9 months old we moved back to Munich, Germany. I went to an international school from the fourth grade onwards. I liked Math, English, Art, and Sports. I studied interior design in Munich and then did my Masters in Business in San Francisco. After that I worked in Start-Ups, mainly as a Human Resources Professional. Now I am working on a new business called Magic is the Key together with my sister, Pipaluk. My passions are food, sailing, traveling, sports, being creative, and learning new things. Based on these facts, what does my horoscope for May 2023 say?

I am underwhelmed. What’s nice is that Chat GPT is super easy to use. I googled it and could enter my question right away with no login or anything else. Definitely less complicated than I might have thought. On the other hand, I did believe that Chat GPT would be more creative. There is no new information and nothing very interesting about this answer.

I decided to probe a little further. I copied and pasted the same prompt but changed the question to: Based on these facts, can you make up my horoscope for May 2023? I was hoping for some creativity on ChatGPTs part. The answer however, was pretty much the same except for the first sentence. It read the following: As an AI language model, I cannot make up a horoscope for a specific person for a specific future date, as horoscopes are not based on verifiable scientific facts.

Another bummer, but I wasn’t entirely ready to let go of this experiment. My final attempt was to ask ChatGPT if it could invent the horoscope. A minor change, but I had some hope.

ChatGPTs final reply: As an AI language model, I cannot predict the future or invent personalized horoscopes. However, I can suggest checking with a professional astrologer or consulting horoscope websites or apps for general horoscope readings.

My learnings are that ChatGPT is not creative and cannot replace astrologers of horoscope writer’s. I find that quite comforting, as it means that these types of jobs will not be taken over by AI just yet. :-)
